Dogwood Festival Car Show Rules & Regulations

  1. Maintaining the safety and integrity of the show is our number one priority. Any entrant found to be acting inappropriately, aggressive, or unsportsmanlike will be ejected from the car show immediately. Please be kind and treat all others with respect.

  2. Exhibitor’s vehicle must be pre-registered (before April 12th) or registered during the designated registration time of 9:30 – 10:30 am on Sunday, April 28th, no exceptions.

  3. Pre-registration is $25 per exhibit and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Day of registration is $35 and is also non-refundable at any time.

  4. Pre-registered exhibitors should plan to arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. or risk losing your space at the show.

  5. Competition Category Definitions:

    Classic – vehicle is 30-49 years old (1970 -1989)

    Antique – vehicle is 50+ years old (1969 or earlier)

    Custom – any age but must be customized in some manner (non-stock)

  7. The Owner/Exhibitor will classify their vehicle but it is subject to change by the judges if inappropriately classified.

  8. Exhibitor’s entry number must be clearly displayed on the driver’s side windshield to be judged.

  9. Car Show Awards will consist of winners in all classes in addition a LaFayette Ford People’s Choice Award, Kids Choice Award, City’s Choice Award, and Dogwood Festival Choice Award.

  10. Dash plaques will also be given to all entries.

  11. The winner of Best of Show is not eligible for other awards.

  12. Judges must have access to all areas of the show vehicle including trunk, interior and engine compartment.These areas must be open and visible to the judges.

  13. It is recommended that you are available at judging to address any questions presented by the judges. Judging will begin promptly at 11 a.m. and will continue until all exhibits are evaluated.

  14. The Car Show Judges decisions are final. Tie breakers will be made by the judges after a short evaluation and possible re-inspection.

  15. All vehicles must remain in the show area for the duration of the show (through 5:00 p.m.).

  16. WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT FOR AWARDS. The awards ceremony time will be determined by number of entries and will be announced at the end of judging. The ceremony is estimated to begin around 4 p.m.

  17. This is a Rain or Shine event.
